GRAND CHALLENGES NIGERIA: IMO REP HON. CHIKE OKAFOR UNVEILS BOLD SOLUTIONS FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT


Vice President Kashim Shettima has launched Grand Challenges Nigeria, a transformative initiative aimed at driving innovation and addressing critical health and development issues across the nation.

As a member of the Global Grand Challenges network, active in seven African countries and Canada, this initiative seeks to bridge government and private sector efforts to deliver groundbreaking solutions to Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

Under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Grand Challenges Nigeria aspires to align the country with global best practices in tackling complex developmental problems.

Rt. Hon. Chike Okafor, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Nutrition and Food Security, took center stage at the event, delivering an impactful keynote address. He detailed the committee’s progress since its creation earlier this year, underscoring its commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“In less than a year, we have rolled out targeted programs to achieve our mandate, expanding collaboration to include all relevant stakeholders,” Hon. Okafor noted. He also announced successful partnerships with state assemblies to establish similar committees nationwide, creating a robust framework for tackling food security and nutrition challenges.

Hon. Okafor assured Nigerians that the committee remains unwavering in its mission to address these critical issues, positioning the country for sustainable growth in line with the administration’s vision.

The launch of Grand Challenges Nigeria symbolizes the government’s commitment to innovation-driven development and strategic partnerships, setting the stage for transformative solutions in health, science, and national growth
