These communities are OHII, OROGWE, NDEGWU, AMAKOHIA-UBI, and IRETE.

The Five Sons of Umunwoha

The five communities of Umunwoha are often referred to as the five sons of Umunwoha. Each community is named after a son, symbolizing their unity and shared heritage. 

OHII, the first son, is known for its vibrant market and bustling trade activities. The people of OHII are known for their entrepreneurial spirit and their contribution to the economic growth of Umunwoha.

OROGWE, the second son, is renowned for its lush landscapes and serene environment. The community is a haven for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

NDEGWU, the third son, is a hub for education and learning. The community is home to several schools and educational institutions, contributing to the intellectual growth of the region.

AMAKOHIA-UBI, the fourth son, is known for its rich cultural heritage. The community is a custodian of the traditional values and customs of Umunwoha. The people of AMAKOHIA-UBI are known for their artistic skills, particularly in traditional dance and music.

Each of these five communities is made up of about 15 towns, making Umunwoha a region of diversity and vibrancy. Despite their differences, the communities share a common bond of unity and a shared vision for the growth and development of Umunwoha.
