As Owerri West Chairman, Councillors Pay Working Visit.

The Commander in charge of 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, Brigadier General UA Lawal has assured the people of Owerri West that the military will partner with them to curb the festering insecurities in the area. He stated this yesterday when the Executive Chairman of Owerri West Hon Victor Osigwe (Ikeoha) and 9 ward Councillors paid him a working visit at the barracks.

Welcoming the delegation, BGen Lawal first off congratulated the visitors on a successful election victory. He assured them the military has intensified effort and has already formed a joint taskforce to ensure a peaceful and secured yuletide . "Feed us with information as early as possible even before the crime takes place", the commander advised.

Further, Gen Lawal urged the Chairman to call for Security meetings within intervals as that will no doubt stem the tide of insecurity and foster synergy between the two institutions.

In his address, Hon Osigwe Prioritized Security as a major concern in the LGA, pointing out major axis where hoodlums penetrate while pleading for the military to intervene. He also enjoined them to continually carry out outreaches like medical, educational etc as a social responsibility in its host communities .

Taking turns to raise concerns peculiar to their communities were The Leader of the House, Hon Victor Olekaibe(Let there be Light), Hon Chijioke Echendu, Hon Mrs Joy Moses and Hon Nnaemeka Ukwuoma.

Others present were; Hon Asika Dickson, Hon Michael Okere, Hon Ebere Patrick, Hon Chinaemerem Anumodu and Hon Michael Ejiogu, also present was the Secretary of the local government, Chief Dr Fidel Onyeneke.
